Sharon L. Washington envisioned an organization that would address the needs of people who were experiencing life's difficulties. The reality is that the Acres Home community and its nearby areas, always had limited access to human services and other resources. Many have traveled to different areas outside of the community to receive assistance. Her views are shared with many of this community and other Northwest areas of Houston.
She knew that it would take her being dedicated and zealous to fulfill this mission to bring about effective change. Her primary objective was to deliver quality human service resources to the families of the Acres Home community and other Northwest communities to improve their lives, as well as restore their voices in the community. This goal guided the Board and herself to develop and incorporate the organization.
As a result, Collective Harmony was officially incorporated as a grassroots organization in November of 2004 and in September of 2005; Collective Harmony received its Letter of Exemption Status from the Internal Revenue Service as Charitable, Tax-Exempt, social purpose organization.
Collective Harmony is composed of nine (9) individuals that are
our Board of Directors and five officers. We have established working
